Athletics

Christian Academy Schools is a proud member of the Ohio Valley Christian Conference (OVCC). Our athletes participate in volleyball, soccer, basketball and track in seasons. We are also affiliated with the Ohio Christian Schools Athletic Association (OCSAA) which allows us to participate in state-wide end-of-season tournaments in all sports.

Students who wish to participate in any of our sports will incur a $300 fee per athlete. This fee covers all sports for the school year and covers the cost of transportation to most away games, the hire of quality and licensed officials and coaches, pay for bus drivers and utilities, and end-of-year awards for our athletes.

Iron Eagle Award

High school junior and senior students participating in athletics are eligible for this prestigious award, presented at the end of each sports season, if recognized for outstanding effort and exhibition of the following attributes:

1. Commitment – Performing the actions and requirements necessary to complete the task. A commitment to academics as well as athletics is important.
2. Sportsmanship – Displaying a consistent respect for teammates, opponents and coaches, and the ability to win or lose graciously.
3. Performance – Demonstrating a high skill level and drive to reach the next level.
4. Spirituality – Understanding and demonstrating the priority of God first in their lives.
5. Character – Living a lifestyle above reproach.

Selection process: Implemented in 1999 by Bruce Toal to recognize outstanding performance in athletics, the Iron Eagle Award is awarded based on the recommendation of the coach, superintendent, school administrators, teachers, and athletic director. This is not an automatic award but is only issued to athletes who represent these qualities.

Christian Academy Schools Athletic Boosters

Our CAS Athletic Boosters procure funding for athletic uniforms and equipment to benefit student athletes and coaches at Christian Academy. The Boosters accomplish this purpose as they support, assist and serve the school and its athletes. Membership dues are $10. Any monies received will be spent to support the athletic programs at Christian Academy Schools and to cover any routine CAS Booster expenses.

Fine Arts

Christian Academy Schools has a thriving Fine Arts program that includes the only full orchestra among Shelby County’s schools and a performing arts department comprised of half of the student body. Each year, we are honored to host Christmas and Spring Concerts at the school campus and a full theatrical production at the Historic Sidney Theatre. Our efforts to develop these programs have been recognized and generously supported by local foundations and businesses across both Shelby and Miami Counties.

Our Fine Arts program is open to all Christian Academy students and homeschooling families across the region. Interested in having your student participate? Contact our offices at (937) 492-7556.
